If every creation has to taste death, will the rooh, which is a creation of Allah, die? If yes, then when and how?

In his commentary of Aqeedah al-Tahaawiyyah, Ibn Abi’l-Izz states:

“The correct view on the issue may be stated like this: one may understand the death of the soul to mean its departure from the body, not its destruction. In this sense, the soul is mortal. But if one means that it perishes and disappears completely, then it is not mortal in that sense; it continues to live after death, and has pleasure or pain.” [1]
