Is the ablution and salah valid with Henna (even traces such as mud/clay from the Henna) in the hair?

When henna is applied, it is left to dry; then what looks like mud is then rubbed off and whatever pattern that was made is what remains and nothing else. When they talk about henna they will be referring to what remains of the impressions made by henna and this is not mud or close to it and thus it does not prevent water from reaching the skin.
