Are there any references made by other religious books such as Torah, Gospel or Bible of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) being a prophet? If yes, what are the references?
Prophet has come, based on the prophecy given by Prophet Moses عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ. It is still recorded today in Torah, despite having distortion over it. It is found in the Book of Deuteronomy in Allah’s statement, “He would rise up among brethren of Prophet Moses.” He would rise up a prophet like Prophet Moses who would speak of what he heard from God and would establish like Prophet Moses, the rule of God. He would live a complete life like Prophet Moses, by marrying and having children. And the only one who came from brethren is Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
In the distortion of the Gospel according to the various writers, reference or attributes made by Prophet Jesus of him speaking, “ the one who would come after him”. It is translated in the ‘Spirit of Truth’ and also in different translations, the name Muhammad was specifically mentioned. The Prophecy of Muhammad was mentioned by Prophet Jesus. The people who were true and sincere followers knew the arrival of prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). This is seen in a particular incident of the biography of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). During his youth he travelled with Uncle Abu Talib to Syria. On the way, they met a monk who was familiar with the scriptures and was able to identify Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as the one who was told to come in the scriptures. Hence, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was prophesied by Prophet Abraham عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ, Prophet Moses and Prophet Jesus.
