Are the names of the Surahs of the Quran also revealed?

The names of Surah were not revealed; the names were added by the earlier generations for identification purposes. If you pick up a Quran from India and Pakistan, Surah Israa is called Surah Bani Israeel. If you were mistakenly thinking that the names of the Quran were part of revelation then somebody brings these two Qurans to you and says what is this? You are confused and this what happens to the average person who does not have that understanding. That is why it is important to understand. Some may call Surah Ikhlaas as Surah Tawheed and others may call Surah Fatihah as Surah Fatiha-tul-kitab – all this is fine as it was not part of the revelation. So there is a leeway here.
