In the Qur’an, Allah mentions that He chooses messengers to people from amongst them.

Based on this, how can we explain the fact that human messengers were sent to Jinn?

As long as the messenger can be understood by people, they can relate to him and it is possible for them to follow the messenger it is acceptable. Jinns have intellect and desires like us. There are exceptions to which some rules of Shari’ah do not apply to them, hence the Prophet (ﷺ) met and explained to them the details and exceptions this is evident from the incident of Surah Jinn
