Why no female prophets have been sent?

Allah says,

  ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ حَيۡثُ يَجۡعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ

Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. [1]

He chose as far as we know male messengers because they were best suited to carry that message. As all of the messengers and the Prophets that Allah chose we believe are fundamentally the best choice. We do not question why is it that Allah chose this group or that group? In ignorance some people think that all of the Prophets or most of them were sent to the Middle East, to the area of Palestine, Syria and Arabia. However, the fact of the matter is that the Prophets were sent to the whole world.[2] The last group was sent to the Middle East and references made to them.
