Is the method for fear prayer applicable to the 5 daily fardh prayers during fighting, or is it a separate Sunnah prayer?

The fear prayer is a prayer that is performed in situations where a person is facing danger and cannot pray the fardh prayers as usual. This would apply to battles, fleeing from an enemy and so on.
