Which is the most mentioned name of Allah regarding forgiveness in the Quran?

Al-Ghaafir; the Forgiver of sins, Al-Ghaffar; the Oft-Forgiving and Al-Ghafur; the Forgiving. All of these names reflect an element of Allah’s accepting repentance or even blotting out sins without repentance, based on other acts that a person may do which are good. As Allah said in the Qur'an elsewhere:

“The righteous deeds erase evil deeds.” [1]

So, this is a part of Allaah’s quality of being the Oft-Forgiving.

Al-Ghafir was mentioned only one time in the Qur'an; that is in Surah Ghafir, by the same name. In the third verse, Allah said there,

“The Forgiver of sin, Acceptor of repentance, severe in punishment.” [2]

Al-Ghaffar was mentioned five times in the Qur'an, among them in Surah Nuh, verse 10

“I said, ask forgiveness from your Lord. Indeed He is Oft-Forgiving.”

Al-Ghafur was the most frequently mentioned of these three names related to forgiveness. It was mentioned 91 times in the Quran, among them is Surah Ash-Shuraa, verse 5,

“…Indeed, only Allah is the forgiving, the most Merciful.”
