I opened my eyes as I would do every day by the grace of Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala just to realize that I haven’t come out of my nightmare today. I quickly closed my eyes again and tried shifting my thoughts to the beautiful night where I had a good laugh and playful moments with my siblings and parents, a lovely dinner with all of them discussing my plans to do medicine and how to bring about the change in the society. I smiled thinking about all those moments and again tried opening my eyes but I realized I wasn’t able to come out of my nightmare. I rubbed my eyes again and again but failed to believe what’s around me. I pinched myself several times just to assure myself it’s a dream and not a reality. I started to get frustrated as to why this dream was not ending. I pushed myself hard to come out of it yet it seemed to be futile.

What was happening? I see our furniture broken into pieces and destroyed, the bed I slept in last night wasn’t there, and I was left laid on broken pieces of floor and other furniture.

I quickly tried to get up and check on my family but there was this sudden dreadful pain in my leg and I wasn’t able to move. I turned to check what it was and saw that I was wounded. The cut was immensely deep and the blood wouldn’t stop flowing. I cried out loudly from unfathomable pain. I started shouting and calling my parents and siblings but couldn’t hear them. I dragged myself, taking the support of the wall and moved towards my parent’s room and to my horror, I witnessed the most horrific sight one could witness, my parents room wasn’t there! All I could see was a profoundly large hole. I cried and shouted repeatedly but to no avail. I tried to drag myself quickly to other rooms, but my entire house was hugely destroyed. I looked up towards the ceiling which looked like it was blown away except for a part of it which would fall any time upon me. I had become blank as I didn’t know what was going on around me.

I then saw a few men coming to our house hastily towards me with a stretcher and few other rescue aids, held me and made me lay onto the stretcher. I had lost all my energy to do anything by then but then took out the strength and courage to ask them what was happening and where my family was, but it seemed they couldn’t hear me and continued discussing among themselves. All I could hear from them was, “They have ruined families and this one has not been in the exception, May Allah have mercy on this family”.

As they carried me downstairs towards the ambulance, I saw 4 bodies wrapped in white cloth which left me more befuddled. In a highly exasperatedly tone I finally asked the brothers who the unfortunate people were? They turned back desolately looking at me and said, “They were recovered from the same house where we found me and the airstrikes have started yet again…”

A recurring incident which takes places with me over and over again and the world is yet blind to it.
A situation which has left me orphaned and childless several times, yet the world is silent.
The cries and mourns, the strikes and the strokes has made this world more deaf to my pain.

I am bleeding but helpless to heal, I am falling but helpless to rise, I am being murdered several times, yet I am alive.

“I am Gaza and Gaza is me”

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.” (Muslim)

This “should be” the state of the Muslim Ummah, where we actually feel the pain of our brothers and sisters and not just simply pass by it as a watchful sympathetic spectator, where we gasp that we can’t have a peaceful sleep until we actually stand up and do something about it, fight for it and win it.

How many of us see pictures in the social media where we hit “like” and comment on it, but forget about it and live lives as though it’s hardly affecting us. We can discuss throughout our lives on the present chaos in Ummah, but if we don’t take a strong stand against it, this is never going to stop. Rather, don’t be surprised if the same destruction comes knocking on your door to give you a rash surprise one unfortunate morning.

Yes, I know you all have questions like:
-What more could I do apart from discussing about it?
-I am a person with no authority, what could I possibly do?

Abdullah bin Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader of people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects. A man is the guardian of his family and he is responsible for them. A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and his children and she is responsible for them. The servant of a man is a guardian of the property of his master and he is responsible for it. Surely, every one of you is a shepherd and responsible for his flock.” ( Sahih Bukhari 6719, Sahih Muslim 1829)

Yes! We all have the power to change and we have the authority on ourselves and on the people around us. If we try to push ourselves to the degree of a positive change within us, we will certainly see the influence, at least amongst the people who live with us. This stimulus of revolution eventually grows and works just like the nuclear reactor, until it subsides in each and every one amongst our Ummah, in shaa Allah.

So let’s start with few basic reminders which we could start up with and thereby help our brothers and sisters who are in extreme need of us. I am not going to list 50 points on what you could do but rather just 5 simple basic “reminder” points which all of us could follow in shaa Allah.

1. Make yourself a person of Taqwa and Tawakkul:
Make sure your obedience to Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala is above everything else in this world as this has the power to put down any powerful enemy in front of us. Remember, in the battle of Badr, the Muslims were outnumbered heavily when compared to the army of disbelievers, yet they won because of their level of Taqwa and Tawakkul. Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala certainly blessed them with the greatest of help and made them victorious. However, the same people lost in the battle of Uhud as this time, the lusts and lures of this world swayed them away, did Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala help them then?

Therefore, let us think before we complain why  Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala isn’t answering our prayers.

2.  Making yourself extremely firm in your Salah as we certainly can’t expect to receive the help of Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala by abandoning what is Fard and by doing the Nawafil’s.

3. Be a part of the on-going “Intellectual Jihad”.
Before this statement becomes a hullabaloo, let me make myself clear. I meant jihad in terms of striving against your own Nafs (soul), by boycotting things which you love the most, those McD burgers, Pepsi, Coke, your best brands of clothing, etc. (To know more on boycott please check bdsmovement.net or mobile app for android and iphone users “Buycott”).

Most of them in regards to boycott have many questions like:
a. Prophet SAW used to trade with Jews, though he knew they would use the money against them?
b. How much could we possible boycott, there is this list which seems to boycott the entire world?

The Muslims at the time of Prophet SAW were valiant enough to go fight and win over the Jews as and when they plotted and tried to distort the image of Islam. But at this point of time, we can’t go and fight them off, rather we must use our intellect and understanding to potentially subdue and make the rival weak. We are living in times where wealth and power is a highly determining factor. Hence, if all of us come together and get into this mission to deteriorate their economy from where they possibly gain power, we have at least tried to do a small percent of benefit towards this Ummah, in shaa Allah.

“They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls. Their violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.” (Al Hashr, 59:14)

4. Create awareness about the situation among your circles of friends and family. Inform them about how they can help the less fortunate. Use all the means and talents at your disposal to make sure that the people know the truth and are a part of it.

Authenticate your knowledge in regards to what is happening around. Don’t just go along with what you are watching through any kind of media. Rather, make sure you do your own intensive research before you actually put the facts down in front of anyone else.

“There will always remain a group from among my Ummah who will continue to fight by the truth, they are apparent to those who oppose them, until the last (followers) of them fight the Maseeh Ad-Dajjal”-  (Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawood)

5. Be consistent in all of the above points, as consistency has always been the key to achieve success. Continue making Dua’a  as dua’a is the mightiest weapon of a believer. So, keep making dua untill we attain victory. Certainly, the triumph is ours as Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala has never failed in His promise to His sincere believers.

Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: The Jews will fight against you and you will gain victory over them until the stone would say: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him – (Sahih Muslim, book 41 hadith # 6984).

My dear brothers and sisters, it’s not just about Gaza. Rather, it’s about every land where we are travailing and drowning in prejudice.Hence, we need each other and we need all of us to be a part of one unit so we could walk together, fight together and win together, insha Allah.

With this I would like to end here with one of the most powerful short lines:

“United we stand, divided we fall”

Please do comment and let me and others know what are your views and suggestions on what more could be done to help ourselves from the nauseating, filthy and soon to succumb tyrants.

May Allah Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala guide us all to the straight path, have mercy on us and remove our distresses and make us among the victorious ones soon! Ameen!
