Is seeking wasila through saints’ shirk, which guarantees eternal life in hell fire?
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills”[1]
This goes back to factors behind that individuals shirk because seeking wasilah is where one prays to others besides Allah. If this is what they mean by wasilah that is praying to other besides Allah then it is a form of shirk, whether you consider the person a holy man or close to Allah, still calling them in dua’ in prayer to them. So, such people and there are many; what is their state? Well, the ultimate decision is left up to Allah. If they die in this state without repentance then it appears to be eternity in fire. So, this is proof that just being a Muslim does not guarantee paradise. That is the point one needs to clarify. As Allah says:
“And most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him.” [2]
That’s the reality of the world.
