In the context of Ahlus-Sunnah-wal-Jamah, where do the Shia stand?

They are not part of Ahlus-Sunnah-wal-jamah; they have deviated in major way. Some scholars say that they have actually left Islam. We cannot say this about the ignorant ones but about those who are knowledgeable amongst them – they are considered to have left Islam.
