A Muslim, whatever he does, starts it with the name of Allah 
: “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate” and makes Allah his consort in his work, and is sure to gain His blessings for it.
Whenever a Muslim gets something good, he thanks Allah by saying, “All praises belong to Allah”; and whenever a catastrophe falls upon him, he recites: “Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return.” He forbears it with patience. Whether it is a tribulation or moments of happiness, he remains attached to Allah .
A Muslim depends only on Allah . He knows that all difficulties, distress, contentment and gratification comes from Allah . He thus, becomes satisfied with life, which cannot be attained in the scuffle for materialistic ends. A Muslim’s total dependence on Allah makes his soul impregnable, intransigent and prodigious in character. He believes that provisions comes from Allah alone. That which is destined for him, nobody can take it, and those not for him, he will not get it, even if the whole world wants him to attain it. He tussles for honest means of living and whatever he earns, he is satisfied with it. A Muslim becomes master of his yearning through fasting. He develops “God consciousness” that keeps him away from all that is forbidden and enjoins to do good and serve humanity with all that he owns. 
Muslims spend on others out of what Allah A Muslim does not keep the benefits of such philanthropic character to himself, but takes pain to invite others to the fold of Allah has provided for them in livelihood. They spend their possessions [for the sake of Allah ]. Thus, no Muslim is a miser; he spends it on the poor, the needy, the orphans, the travelers, day in and day out, openly and secretly, and pays Zakah. and teachings of Islam with love and concern.
A Muslim does not keep the benefits of such philanthropic character to himself, but takes pain to invite others to the fold of Allah and teachings of Islam with love and concern. Those who respond to his call become his brothers in faith. During this process, if he encounters a difficult situation, he counters it with patience and gets it resolved with wisdom and fair preaching. Through this approach, the addressee becomes his brother in due course of time. This is called DA’WAH.
Da’wah refers to conveying the message of Islam to non-Muslims and inviting them to Allah .
The Qur’an advocates this process categorically in these words:
“You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.” 1
and
“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best.” 2
Da’wah is a duty, a responsibility, assigned on every Muslim, by Allah , as Allah has clearly mentioned in the Qur’an that He has appointed the Muslim ummah as a model community for the whole of mankind. One should not wait for a perfect Islamic society to begin conveying the message of Islam. As soon as one has some knowledge of Islam, it becomes a duty to convey it to others who know little or nothing about Islam and invite them to it. As Prophet Muhammad 
said,
“Convey from me, even if it be an Ayah.” 3
The goal of Da’wah to non-Muslims is not to convert them, but to inform and educate them about the ONE TRUE GOD, their Cherisher and Sustainer, The Ever-Merciful, Allah and His Deen, Islam. The emphasis should always be on the transmission of message, and not conversion. The emphasis should always be on the transmission of message, and not conversion.
Da’wah opportunities are everywhere. One has to just look for them. Also, da’wah has great rewards. If a person accepts Islam through the dawah you give to him/her, you get rewards for all the prayers he/she does or all the fasts that he/she does, etc.
The Messenger of Allah said,
“He who calls others to follow the Right Guidance will have a reward equal to the reward of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any respect on that account.” 4
Da’wah has become a universal need in the present world. It is the only hope of mankind to deliver justice to suffering humanity. Muslims should try to reach every street in the world and tell people that Islam has come to help them with new hopes and expectations. Humanity is dying. The materialistic civilization stands exposed. Da’wah at this juncture can come to its rescue and revive the fate of this ummah at the same time.
May Allah give us courage to present Islam to the world. May Allah open our hearts and minds to work together for his deen.
